My last name is pronounced as if it were spelled "shoal." It rhymes with bowl.

I am not to be confused with William F. Schoell, an undoubtedly fine writer of several business books.

I write biographies of film personalities for adults, of writers and composers for young adults, and books on film and the performing arts for everyone. I am also the author of several novels in the horror and suspense genres. I have also written a great many short stories and articles on various subjects.
