OSRAM BACKlight 2nd Generation (B2G) is an exciting, new LED system for channel letter signs featuring modules (15.75 feet in length), which can be field cut and configured for almost any signage application.  Each module consists of 120 LEDs mounted on 60 circuit boards (2 LEDs per board) with wire interconnects that can be spaced up to three (3) inches apart.  A complete reel consists of two such modules.

 

BACKlight B2G is available in colored (red, amber, orange and yellow) types with a service life of up to 100,000 hours and white types with a service life of up to 50,000 hours.  The modules are equipped with self-adhesive backing on every other board and mounting holes for screw or snap-in spacers for ease of installation.  Their narrow width (<0.50 inc.) allows installation in narrow channel letters or where space is limited.  OPTOTRONIC 10.5 Vdc  power supplies are specially designed to operate the B2G modules.  A range of UL Class 2 power supplies are available for dry and damp location use.

OSRAM SYLVANIA introduces DURA-ONE advanced illumination technology. 

DURA-ONE lamps use magnetic induction technology, eliminating the need for coils that eventually wear out and cause ordinary compact fluorescent lamps to fail.  Compared to standard compact fluorescent lamps, DURA-ONE lamps last 1.5 to 2.5 times as long (15,000 hrs. vs. 6-10,000 hrs.) Longer life means fewer lamp replacements and potentially lower maintenance costs. 

 

The amalgam technology in DURA-ONE lamps delivers high light output over a wider temperature range than ordinary compact fluorescent lamps, providing 90 percent of rated light output from 25 degrees F to 150 degrees F with reliable starting at temperatures as low as -20 degrees F.  DURA-ONE also provides warm light with a CCT of 2700K and a CRI of 82.  A 23-watt DURA-ONE BR30 can replace a 65-watt BR30 incandescent lamp, while providing nearly twice the light and up to 7.5 times longer life.  The 20-watt A19 lamp will save over $82 in energy costs over the life of the lamp (based on $0.10/kWh) and last up to 20 times longer than a 75-watt incandescent lamp.  DURA-ONE lamps are suitable for lighting in extreme temperature environments, difficult to service areas, and frequently cycled applications including fluorescent volt-amp rated occupancy sensors.
