End Of Part One
UK, ITV (LWT), Sitcom, Colour, 1979
Starring: Denise Coffey, Tony Aitken, Fred Harris

The first TV series from Andrew Marshall and David Renwick, who later helped write Not The Nine O'Clock News and other hit series and would, singly, develop 2 Point 4 Children and One Foot In The Grave.

Fresh from their success on BBC Radio 4 with the comedy series The Burkiss Way, the writers here produced a novel idea in which husband and wife Norman and Vera Straightman persistently had their quiet life rudely interrupted by the Pythonesque intrusions of famous people from the world of television. (These were played by the other cast members, in various parody guises, one of whom, Fred Harris, was also in The Burkiss Way.)

Researched and written by Mark Lewisohn.
