Posh Nosh
UK, BBC, Satire, colour, 2003
Starring: Richard E Grant, Arabella Weir
Posh Nosh

Simon and Minty Marchmont are married TV chefs who 'create extraordinary food for ordinary people'. Their spikey relationship is obvious throughout their ten minute cookery demonstrations. While Minty sweats in the kitchen, Simon is pre-occupied with his wine cellar and his live-in tennis coach Jose-Luis.

The relationship between Simon and Minty - particularly his sardonic put-downs - made these shorts an enjoyable watch. Moreover they brilliantly satirised the pretentious language of TV cookery shows as you were taught to 'learn to relax an avocado, bamboozle a parsnip or shave a fennel'.
