About Catalan 101

This site is designed as a starting point for people who want to learn more about the Catalan language. The links on the left contain useful English to Catalan translations as well as other useful information about the Catalan language.

After some translations into Catalan, the phonetic pronunciation is given in parentheses. This can be helpful as a guide to correct pronunciation, but it is advisable to learn the different individual sounds that comprise each word or sentence. The pronunciation section at the top can help with this.

About the creator of this site: I am a student at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, USA but am currently attending the University of Minnesota for one semester. I have studied in Gävle, Sweden at Borgarskolan for one year after high school and last year I studied at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands as an exchange student. I can understand and speak Swedish as well as read and write basic Dutch. There are many other languages I would love to learn, which is partly why I made this site. Hopefully you can learn something new about of the languages here at 101languages.net!
