Iowa State University has a long and proud history in the area of athletic training. The Athletic Training Education Program obtained accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in April of 2001.
After students have completed two semesters in the program, they can apply for the Robert Watkins and Mary Schwartz Athletic Training Achievement Award. This award was established by Bill Watkins, a former athletic training student at Iowa State University.
