Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I access your archives?

Why hasn't the online edition been updated for several days?

I've searched for a story I know was in the paper, but I can't find it.

How do I access your archives?

Our full electronic archives, which go back to 1985, are available at http://library.cnpapers.com. Though searching is free, there is a charge for downloading stories. Stories dating back about two weeks are available for free on the Web site. These can be accessed either by conducting a search using our search engine, or by clicking on News, Sports, Editorials or Columns and then clicking on the desired date. Online obituaries go back to January 1997.

Why hasn't the online edition been updated for several days?

Gazette Online is updated every night. The current issue is usually available by 1 or 2 a.m., though it is sometimes later. If the home page in your browser does not list the current day's edition, it is likely that your browser is reading a cached file from your computer's hard drive, rather than the latest page from our server. Hit "Reload" or "Refresh" on your browser, and you should see the most current issue.

Not every story that goes in the physical newspaper is put online. Most national stories, for instance, are not put online, although we do have a link to other sources on the Web for national and international stories. Some local stories that were produced by the Associated Press are not included.
