ANGEL FINGERTIP TOWEL

1 oz. White cotton worsted

2 oz. color of your choice

Size G crochet hook

1-1/2” plastic ring

Head

With white

Rnd 1:   Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook, do not join. Mark beg of each round.   (6 sc)

Rnd 2:   2 sc in each sc around.   (12 sc)

Rnd 3:   2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next sc) around.  (18 sc)

Rnd 4 thru 6:    Sc in ea sc around.   (18 sc)

Rnd 7:   (Dec 1 sc, sc in next sc ) around.   (12 sc)     Stuff head lightly

Rnd 8:   (dec over next 2 sc) around.   (6 sc)    Finish off

Rnd 9:   Attach contrasting color in any sc.   2 sc in each sc around. Join to first sc.   (12 sc)

Rnd 10:   Ch 3, 1 dc in same space, 2 dc in each sc around. Join.   (24 dc)

Rnd 11:   Ch 3, 1 dc in same sp, (1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around.  36 dc.   Join

Rnd 12 :    Sc in same st and in next 8 sc, skip 9 sc, sc in next 9 sc, skip next 9 sc, join to first sc. (18 sc) Note: The 2 groups of  9 stitches unworked will later become the wings.

Now working in rows:

Row 1:   Holding piece flat and working through 2 layers, 2 sc in next 9c. (18 sc) Ch 4, turn.

Row 2:   Dc in first sc, (ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc in next sc) across. Ch 4, turn. (36 dc with ch 1 between each dc.

Row 3:   Dc in next dc, ch 1) across.   (36 dc)

Row 4:   Repeat Row 3 until entire piece measure approx 13 inches.

Last 2 rows :    2 dc in each space and in each dc. Finish off.

First Wing: With right side facing attach white in first dc next to skirt. Ch 3, 2 dc in same space, ch 3, 3 dc in next sp, around. (nine  3 dc groups with ch 3 in between each group). Finish off.

Second Wing: With right side facing attach white in first dc next to skirt, ch 3, 2dc in same space, ch 3, 3 dc in next space, ch 3, 3 dc in next space, ch 3, remove hook, insert hook in corresponding ch 3 space of other wing, (3 dc in next space on second wing, ch 3) to end. Finish off.

Halo: Attach white to plastic ring and sc around ring to cover it. Sew to back of head and use the halo to hang on a hook.
