Larry Appleton is your average grown-up frat boy, but when his distant cousin from Mypos, Balki Bartokomous, shows up on his doorstep, Larry's life gets turned upside down. Watch Larry scheme and Balki massacre the English language in clothes only a mother could love. It's like 'The Odd Couple' on acid.

More About Perfect Strangers
Premise: Who could ever forget the name Balki Bartokomous? Bronson Pinchot, already famous for his funky accent in 'Beverly Hills Cop,' uses another crazy accent to bring the perpetually clueless Balki to life. Pinchot plays a sheepherder from Mypos, a Greece-like island, who arrives in America filled with a love for life, but no clue about American culture. Balki arrives on the doorstep of his distantly related American cousin, Larry (played by Mark Linn Baker of 'My Favorite Year'), setting up hilarious cross-cultural clashes as Balki attempts to blend his bizarre, naive ways with American life. Balki's catch phrase and answer to everything was "Don’t be ridikalus!" When that didn't work, he'd throw himself into Larry's arms and do the Dance of Joy. But Cousin Larry is a hyper-neurotic uptight fellow, the polar opposite of Balki, who is the definition of happy-go-lucky. The first few seasons focus not only on Larry and Balki getting used to each other, but also on trying to get it on with the ladies.
History: A versatile ratings performer, 'Perfect Strangers' was produced by the same team who created family favorites like 'Step by Step' and 'Full House.' It ranked as the No.1 program in five different time slots and ran for eight seasons. The show was nominated for three Emmys, including Bronson Pinchot for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 1987 and Doris Roberts for her guest appearance in 1989.
