Slay the myths of Lords reform!

St George slaying a dragon

In 1997 Labour was elected on the promise to make the House of Lords "democratic and representative." This issue has been put off for far too long. The people want reform. Most MPs want reform. There is now a widespread consensus that the Lords should be replaced by a predominantly elected Second Chamber. Add your voice to the growing campaign to make this happen.

A lot of myths abound about the perils of House of Lords reform, such as claims that because Lords are appointed, it is politically more independent than the House of Commons. In fact the reverse is true. At the Elect the Lords campaign we are committed to slaying these mythical creatures.
