Chamber Programs

Valentine

First begun in 1972, the Chamber's Valentine Program has grown over the years to include a variety of Valentine community activities, as well as its nationally-known cachet stamping and postmark program.

To send your Valentines with our romantic stamp and the Loveland postmark, prepare your cards, affixing proper postage, address, and return address, and include them in a larger envelope addressed to: The Valentine Lady, P.O.Box 111, Loveland, OH 45140. We also stamp wedding invitations throughout the year.

The Valentine Lady, who is nominated and selected each year to be ambassador for the Chamber's Valentine Program, visits area businesses, nursing homes and schools, among her duties as Valentine Lady. Valentine cards are printed with the winning card design from our Valentine card design contest and are sold at the Chamber office and various locations in Loveland. Students and adults can enter the Valentine poetry contest, which features winning poems published in the Loveland Herald, and read aloud by the poets at an exclusive community Valentine Breakfast.

The Chamber's special postmark program includes the hand-stamping of Valentines with our unique cachet, modeled after the year's card design. After Valentines are stamped with the cachet, they are transported to the Loveland Post Office, where they are hand-cancelled with a special Loveland, Ohio postmark. Each year, about 3,000 Valentines are received or sent to all 50 states and many foreign countries, bearing the cachet and hand cancellation. In 1994, Loveland, Ohio was the venue for the premier of the popular commemorative "Love Stamp."

Two new additions to the Valentine Program in 2006 are "Signs of the Heart" and the "Address a Heart" coloring contest. Red Valentine heart-shaped signs, imprinted with a personal love message or a business promotional message, will be planted along the city's rights-of-way during February 1st - 14th. Click here to download an order form, which contains more detailed information. Get creative and "Address a Heart" with our special Valentine heart character. Networking Meetings

Business Networking meetings, held the first and third Thursdays of the month, are an excellent way to meet new people and share business cards and leads. It's a fun and exciting hour, with self-introductions followed by a more in-depth presentation by one member. Business Networking meets on the first Thursday of the month from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and the third Thursday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Both meetings are held in the downstairs Community Room of Lebanon Citizens National Bank (look for the green LCNB sign) at 500 Loveland-Maderia Road. Meetings are open to the public. Please pre-register, at least one day in advance, by calling the Chamber at 683-1544, or sending an e-mail to adminlovelandchamber@fuse.net.

The Chamber organizes numerous breakfast meetings each year, providing more opportunities for business-to-business development. Be sure to check our Events Calendar, one of the area's most comprehensive listings of local events.

Golf Outing

The Chamber's annual golf scramble has developed a reputation as one of the best golf outings in the area, beginning with a hot lunch and a variety of beverages before a well-organized shotgun start. Players compete for prizes on every hole, including car leases, gift certificates to area golf courses, and many items of sports memorabilia. The scramble ends with live jazz music, a sit-down dinner, an entertaining speaker, and an awards ceremony, during which two $2000 scholarships are presented. All proceeds from the outing's tee and green sponsorships go directly to the Chamber's scholarship account.

The City of Loveland returns as co-title sponsor of the 2006 golf outing, which will be held on June 5th at O'Bannon Creek Golf Club. Corporate and Eagle sponsorships are available, and include golf, cart, lunch and dinner for four, as well as advertising and marketing opportunities. Call the Chamber office at 683-1544 for additional information and player registration forms.

Scholarship

The Chamber's scholarship giving has grown to provide two $2000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live in the Loveland City School District. The golf outing’s tea and green sponsorships and the Chamber's new full-color map project fund the scholarship account.

Welcome to Loveland

Welcoming new residents to Loveland and giving them a gift bag full of samples, coupons and information regarding businesses in their new town is a wonderful extension of the Chamber. What better way to promote businesses in our area than to make them known to people new to Loveland. Click here to print a Welcome to Loveland brochure using your browser's print function. Or, for more information about participating in the Welcome to Loveland program, or to receive a new resident gift bag, please call the Chamber at 683-1544, or send an e-mail to officelovelandchamber@fuse.net.

Meet the Candidates Night and Organized Issues Debates

The Chamber provides opportunities for residents to hear candidates for local public office make opening statements and answer questions from the audience. Meet the Candidates Night is held in October preceding each municipal November election, which occur in odd-numbered years. In 2004, the Chamber held an informational meeting on a local zoning issue. The Chamber hopes to sponsor more debates on local issues in the future.
