The great and the good of Leeds United were there for the results of a vote to determine who should be recognised as the best to wear the white shirt.

Over 30,000 supporters voted on Leedsunited.com, and whilst there were many varied opinions as to who was the best goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders or strikers, there was little doubt once the votes were collated.

Allan Clarke, voted as one of Leeds best ever strikers alongside John Charles, said: "To see the great list of players who have been nominated for this award shows just how great this club is and makes you very proud to be included.

"The team picked here would be a match for any team in the world and I'm sure we would beat them."

Nigel Martyn is the only player from today's era to get in the side, whilst current United right-back Gary Kelly was nominated.

Martyn was presented with his award by Manager Kevin Blackwell.

The late John Charles' award was accepted by his widow Glenda, and Vicky Bremner accepted the award on behalf of her late husband, Billy.
