Elsewhere on the Web : The Chess Blogosphere

Sharp eyed visitors to About Chess might have noticed a new 'Related Blogs' link box (called a widget in About.com terminology) on many of the pages across the site. These are the chess blogs that we consult most frequently, some of them daily.

We know there are a lot more blogs than are listed there. While we will never have as complete a list as you can find on the Boylston Chess Club (BCC) blog, we will be adding a few more of our favorites from time to time. The full list is also called Chess Blogs, located under the Blogs / Magazines / Columns topic to the left of every page on the site.

Although we are just now getting more integrated into the chess blogosphere, our home page chess.about.com has been created using blog technology for almost three years, Even so, it came as a great surprise when the recent BCC post Measuring the Chess Blogosphere II assigned us a Google Page Rank equal to the highest rankings among the chess blogs they track.

To make our integration into the blog world conform to emerging traditions, you will also find

• a permalink for all of our blog posts. That's blogspeak for the full text of any particular post. In fact, it's always been there well concealed under a cryptic # symbol.

• a new capability to make comments against About Chess blog posts.

Of course, we will remain more than happy to hear from you through email or on our related Forum for About Chess. Never has there been so much opportunity for chess fans to be heard.
