About William Donald Schaefer

Comptroller William Donald Schaefer

William Donald Schaefer has served in public office since 1955 including as mayor and councilman of Baltimore and governor of Maryland. A native of the state, Schaefer was born in Baltimore in 1921 and is currently the comptroller of Maryland. He served in the military during World War II and is a lawyer by training.
