Three brothers appeared before a
throng of journalists on Saturday, April 22, 1961. Being
questioned while the TV cameras rolled were Santiago, Omar
and Lincoln Babum - mercenaries captured at Cuba's Bay of
Pigs invasion.

The Guatemalan Precedent to the
Bay of Pigs Invasion
As of 1960, the US applied a
strategy of destabilization and internal subversion against
the newly born Cuban revolution. The strategy was the
Caribbean version of a plan enacted by the CIA a decade
earlier in Guatemala between 1953 and 1954.
