Updated 3/16/06
Hi
everyone, I am a beautiful long haired Chihuahua and I weigh about 11 -
12 pounds. I am doing better in some areas. I love my doggie friends and
play a lot now..I also am hanging closer to foster mom during some noisy
times like the feeding frenzy. I am joining in with the begging pups. Did
you notice my new picture? I am behind my 2 friends, Shamus O'Reilly and
Christopher Robin on the couch..I feel safe with my buddies.
However I am still very easily frightened and still prefers the other
dogs to foster mom. I can be picked up and will sit on her lap for a bit
but I am not totally comfortable. I am not a biter, just stiff with fear.
As long as I can go at my own pace with a few gentle lessons from you I
will be fine. I need a securely, and I mean securely fenced yard. Foster
mom still will not walk me except in a fenced area. She is so worried I
might slip my harness and she knows I would be so scared I would run and
never be found. She leashes and harnesses and carries me when we have to
go out and about. I do fine this way. But she never puts me down till we
are in a safely confined area.
I
have been healthy so far and eat very well. I am just beautiful and my
eyes are huge...Foster mom can't wait till all the fear is gone from
them...
If
you KNOW you can provide me with these things, patience, secure area,
love, kindness and good care along with another playing dog or 2 or 3..and
no children, won't you please adopt me???
Hoping to see you soon !!
Sable "Anne's" January Update
First
I want to thank all my fan's out in Dogworld for their nice comments on
how pretty I am. Yes, I am beautiful. Plus I am smart. That is because I
am a 3 year old 11 pound Long Haired , Brown and Tan Chihuahua. Whew that
was a mouth full...at least it didn't have any calories in it!! Hehehehehe,
I have gained a bit..but I will trim down when the good weather comes.
I am
adjusting here in my new fosterhome. There are many dogs to play
with. I love the Poodles and several of the others as well. I am learning
how to run and play and jump on other dogs..it is great!! I love it when
they kiss me and invite me to play. The boys here, all think I am the cats
meow!!
I am
still a jumpy little girl. Many things still frighten me...including
people. I do like FM but I am not comfortable totally yet. I will sit on
her lap to watch TV. The bad thing is she doesn't sit for long..and I
don't like to be carried about. She does do this sometimes, said it is my
homework. Ugh!!! I do wag my tail at her and jump around so happy when she
comes home from work or errands..I do come up to her occasionally now. But
I have to learn to be braver still. We are working on this. Just being
beautiful isn't enough you know!!!
I am
very good about pottying outside. I will also use a pottypad if I have to.
I don't know if I will ever be the cuddly little lap dog. I may be..I just
am not sure. I came from a very mean place..I was treated meanly and was
dirty and scared all the time. I am clean and happy now as long as I can
go at my own pace. If you think you want a very scared, grateful, sweet
and smart little girl who is also beautiful..I am the pupper for you!!! I
need a securely fenced in yard due to my fear issues and no small children
please. I am a delicate little flower you see.
Thanks
for listening..Happy New Year. My New Year Resolution is to learn to trust
and be brave...what's yours???
If
you would like more info on little me, please e-mail my fostermom at cascade@lynnet.com
I am
being fostered in snowy, cold Upstate NY!!
My name is Sable and I
am an approximately 3 year old long haired
Chihuahua. I weigh approximately
12 lbs and got my name cause my FM says my coat reminds her of sable fur.
Hello
Everyone,
Sable here! My FM says I am doing so
well, I could write to you and tell
you all about my new life.
I am a 3 year old long haired
chihuahua who weighs 10 lbs. My
Foster Mom says I look so
regal--whatever that is--when I
walk. She says I prance instead of
walk. I had to have a harness on all
the time when I first got here, but
now I go out in our fenced yard
without one. I also do whatever my
foster mom does, so if she sits in
the yard, I jump right up and sit in
the chair next to her. So if she
wants me to walk, she has to start
walking around the yard first and
then I get the idea! (Really, I am
just helping her get her exercise
to, but don't tell her!)
It did not start out very well for
me in the beginning, you see I was
someplace called a "puppymill"..I
don't know what that meant, but I
knew I kept having babies and they
kept taking them away from me, over
and over and over. I was with my
Mom, who kept having more and more
puppies also, and she is still in
that bad place.
When I came to the Yorkie Manor, I
really was very scared and I missed
my Mom. So I hid for a long time.
But my FM kept getting me out of my
hiding place, and telling me it was
going to be OK. I have been here
almost three months now, and guess
what, this place is a lot better
than OK, its every puppymill born
dogs dream come true. Its FREEDOM. I
now know what that word means.
I have lots of yorkie brothers and
sisters, but I am the only chihuahua
here. My Mom now calls this place
"The Yorkie & I Chi Manor".
I have learned many new things here,
especially how to trust. I have
food, good food and plenty of it,
twice a day and water whenever I
want it. And treats, FM is pretty
strict about treats, but Foster Dad
is a real push over and he sneaks us
treats all the time. I still won't
take treats out of anyone's hands,
but they know I am not ready for
that yet, so they just leave me a
dish of them. ALL for me. This is
doggie heaven!
I am pretty laid back, but do get
protective when strangers come into
the house, as it is my job to be
protective. I just give them a good
resounding barking and then go hide
til they go home.
I love snuggling on the couch
watching tv at night and as long as
I have the prime spot in FM's lap,
the other little yorkies climb over
me, on me, etc. trying to get to FM,
but that spot is mine so I just
ignore them. The other furkids
cuddle with me sometimes, and I kind
of like that too.
They have introduced me to bully
stix, squeaky toys and chew
bones...I have things that are mine,
all mine! And I have been known to
sneak over and confiscate a few toys
that are lying around and even some
of the bowls if I can. Then FM has
to go on a hunt for all the dog
bowls, its fun to see if she can
find out where Bella & I hid them!
I still have my safety zone in FM
office, but I now will venture out
of it on my own when I go looking
for FM. I know how to use the doggie
door and use pee pads most of the
time. At night I now sleep under
FM's bed. I used to sleep in the
office, but I want to be closer to
my person, so I have a second safety
zone, under the bed. There are
pupkin beds all over, FM hopes I
will climb into one of them to sleep
in at night, but I still like the
safety of being under the bed. But I
am thinking about coming out and
don't be surprised if I am sleeping
out in the open pretty soon.
I need a forever home so that I can
have my own Mom & Dad to help me get
braver and braver and venture all
the way out into my new world. A few
other four legged siblings would be
good too as I do like to be with the
other furkids here. No little kids
please, but a couple two legged
older kids would be OK as long as
you understand that like most chi's,
I tend to bond with the Mommy. I do
have "issues" with men, but I am
getting more comfortable with Foster
Dad. He would just have to
understand that I am really really
afraid of men and give me time to
adjust. My foster dad does hold me,
but I don't totally relax with him
like I do with Foster Mom.
Are you my new family.....if you
are...please push that adopt button
cause I really want MY OWN Family
for Christmas this year!
I am being fostered in upstate NY
and you can contact my FM at
cascade@lynnet.com
if you want to know more about me.
