Transmetropolitan #8, "Another Cold Morning"

3/28/2006 - Update: Greetings followers of the Great Love Swami, Warren Ellis. He is a kind and just messiah, and a damn sexy one too. I've fixed a spelling error in the title, and have shrank the images to be more managable. Hopefully, if anyone has somehow not bought Transmetropolitan, this will convince you that you've fucked up and should atone for your sins (by buying it all) post-haste.

Makes you wonder if any Revivals manage to keep it together enough to make a new life for themselves in the world of Transmet

Mary shows up again later, in the issue where Spider actually smiles. He's set her up with housing and apparently got her a camera, and they discuss his vendetta against the Smiler.

I love how Ellis always avoids telling when exactly Transmet is supposed to be set.

Ditto. It's just "WAY THE FUCK IN THE FUTURE."

And really, when you stop to thing about it, so much time has passed, that it's no longer even a blip in people's minds to question the status quo from our perspective.

Being forced to buy Makers from mafioso? Part of life.

Every single thing that could be offensive to a modern audience has probably been around for quite some time in the City (another thing I love, how it's just an abstract). Everyone's used to it, they live in it, they don't struggle against these things anymore. It's fucking fascinating.

Actually it's specifically noted in one issue that no one knows, in TRANSMET, what year it is.

That's awesome!

This is an unbelievable issue. The first time that I read it a while back, I had to just put the book down and sit there for a minute. Ellis's work should be required reading for everyone.

On a seperate note, Hello to all, I'm new to the community and unfortunately right now don't have access to my computer, but do have access at work. I've got about 3Gb of scans, mostly What If?(both series) that I'll be willing to post if any one is interested.
