Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC–Q) is a pioneering project set up in partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It brings the best of American pre-medical and medical education to the Middle East region; this is the first time that an American university has offered its M.D. degree overseas.
WCMC–Q shares the same purpose and mission of the institution of which we are a part, Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC).
Faculty at WCMC–Q are dedicated to providing the finest education possible
WCMC-Q is committed to excellence in teaching, research, patient care and the advancement of the art and science of medicine.
Contact with physicians, and observation of their therapeutic relationship with patients, is an integral part of the Medical Program from the outset
The mission of WCMC–Q is to:
Provide the finest education possible for medical students.
Contribute to the lifelong education of physicians throughout their careers.
Conduct research at the cutting edge of knowledge.
Improve health care both now and for future generations.
Deliver the highest quality of clinical care.
By establishing WCMC-Q in partnership with the Qatar Foundation, Cornell has extended its triple mission of education, patient care and research to the Middle East region, and developed further its role as a transnational university.
