Clothespin Angels

Materials:

Bernat Ice Christmas worsted weight yarn (has a silver thread throughout); model was done with Christmas White

1 craft clothespin with base

1 wooden bead head

1 silver chenille or craft stem

"G" hook

Angel’s Dress:

Round 1: Chain 8. Join to form a circle. Chain 1; work 20 sc in circle. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 2: Chain 3. Dc in same space as joining. Work 2 dc in each stitch around. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 3: Chain 3. Dc in next 3 stitches. Sc in next 2 stitches. Hdc in next stitch. Dc in next 2 stitches. Trc, dtrc, trc in next stitch. Dc in next 2 stitches. Hdc in 2 next stitches. Sc in next 9 stitches. Hdc in 2 next stitches. Dc in 2 next stitches. Trc, dtrc, trc in next stitch. Dc in next 2 stitches. Hdc in next 2 stitches. Sc in next 2 stitches. Hdc in next stitch. Dc in next 3 stitches. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 4: Chain 1. Sc in next 3 stitches. Skip 14 sts. Sc in next 9 sts. Sc in next 3 stitches. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 5: Chain 2. Hdc in each stitch around. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 6: Chain 2. Hdc in same space. Hdc in next 3 stitches. 2 hdc in next stitch. Hdc in next 6 stitches. 2 hdc in next stitch. Hdc in next 4 stitches. Hdc in each remaining stitch. Join to top of beginning chain.

Rounds 7&8: Chain 2. Work hdc in each stitch around. Join to top of beginning chain.

Round 9: Chain 2. Work 2 hdc in each stitch around. Join to top of beginning chain.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Wing Trim:

Working through both thicknesses. Join with slip stitch at underarm. Chain 3. Work sc, chain 3, sc to create 5 loops across wing’s edge. Repeat for other wing.

Place clothespin in base. Put dress on clothespin. Glue bead to top of clothespin. Form a loop from silver stem leaving a short end to place into hole on top of bead to create a halo. Trim as desired.
