Putnam and Wirtz teamed up in Summer 2002. Wirtz is a nephew of Canadian coach Paul Wirtz and his brother
Kris, who was a pair skater as well. Both skaters also continued to compete in singles for a while after teaming
up. Putnam finished 3rd at the 2003 Canadian Junior Championships and Wirtz was 4th at the 2001 Canadian
National Championships. Coach Peter Tchernyshev is a multiple U.S. Champion in Ice Dancing (with Naomi Lang).
Putnam/Wirtz include a side by side triple Lutz in their Free Skating.
