vBulletin 3.0.14 Released
This release of vBulletin fixes an unpleasant cross-site scripting flaw in the 3.0.x branch. We recommend all customers running previous versions of vBulletin 3.0.x to upgrade or patch to 3.0.14 as soon as possible.

Please note that vBulletin 3.5.x and vBulletin 2.3.x are not affected by this problem.

We always recommend that customers perform a full upgrade to the current version using install/upgrade.php, but if time does not permit, or for whatever other reason an upgrade would be problematic, a patch is available. Details follow:

Full Upgrade

The best way to fix the problem is to perform a full upgrade, downloading the complete 3.0.14 package from the vBulletin Members' Area and following the regular upgrade instructions.

Patch File

Patches are now available in the members' area. You may view available patches here. Alternatively, you may use the zip attached to this post to apply the patch. Both methods are equivalent.

Go to the page mentioned above and download the "Security patch for 3.0.13" or download the zip at the end of this post. Extract the zip archive, then connect to your web server using FTP and overwrite the following files using the replacement versions from the zip.

Notes:

1. If you cannot download the attachment in this post, you are not currently registered as a license customer. Please see this thread for instructions on how to proceed.
2. You do not need to download this patch if you perform a full upgrade to 3.0.14.
3. If you only apply a patch, your version number will not change. Your version number will only be updated to 3.0.14 if you perform a full upgrade.

New Features
The vBulletin 3.5 allows us to implement more new features easily, here are a few of them which got implemented during the last days:

1. Thread Prefixes: This Modification allows us to sort the Modification Forums for vBulletin 3.5. We implemented it in a Subforum like manner, so that it looks nearly identically to the way we separated the vB2 and vB3 Release Forums. Please check your Releases to make sure, you entered a Prefix already

2. Exclude Forums: Within your User CP you'll find a new option, which allows you to exclude complete categories from nearly every page on vbulletin.org. So if you want to get rid of new threads posted in vb2 or vb3.0 forum, you can do it.

3. Install System: We've changed the way the install button works, or better said the system behind. When you view a Modificationthread, you can see a last update Information, which is based now on the latest attachment belonging to the Modification. If you have installed a Modification and the author updates his mod, this date will be highlighted until you actually download the new file, or uninstall the mod itself. This should make it easier for you to stay up-to-date on your modifications

We've just added two new forums!

Big boards - Devoted to discussion related to running a large forum. Here admins of large forums discuss and share server tweaks/vBulletin modifications and anything else related to running a large community.

Coder's Discussion - A forum for coders to discuss vBulletin hacking with each other, newbies need not apply! Anyone can read threads in this forum, but you must join an extra usergroup to post.

Upgrade to vBulletin 3.5.4
Yeah,

we did the big upgrade now. Let's say it was a hard work and we are still not yet finished. Those of you waiting for the new Hack DB still have to wait. As the DB is still not finished, we decided to upgrade now, and add the DB later.

I know that most of you can hardly wait for the DB, but we think it's better to do the upgrade now, so we can faster implement new suggestions and everything else.

And lately i want to excuse to those beeing surprised about the htaccess protection, without a notice before, but actually I was surprised myself about getting time today to do it, so I said: let's just do it.

Finally i want to say, that we have tested and ported nearly everything, but of course something could have happened, so if you miss something or find a bug, don't hesitat to post it into site feedback forum!

And now enjoy the new features of vBulletin 3.5 on vB.org!

Two new moderators
With the ammount of work increasing on vbulletin.org the team has been increased by two wellknown members of the community. Princeton and Oblivion Knight have done a lot to make vbulletin.org a better place, and now they got honored for that work by beeing added to the vBulletin.org Moderator Team.

They will help the old team on every aspect of the board, mostly concentrating on the 3.5 Forums.
