The front page: an apprentice from nowhere
It's getting tough, disappointing you. Last night, we offered you three choices for the front page picture of The Times today. You chose the legs of Shirley Houghton, the new, Tory councillor for Tower Hamlets. She won 55 per cent of the vote, while Captain Freddie took 28 per cent and the Indian-dressing Scottish earl came third, with 18 per cent.
Then something completely different appeared on this morning's front page. Kim Scott-Clark, The Times Deputy Picture Editor, explains what happened:
"The Apprentice picture was strictly embargoed until 10pm, for obvious reasons, so we couldn't put it out in any public domain. But as the day went on, we felt that many of our readers were watching and were interested in the show. Once Robert Cole, the acting Business Editor, decided to write a big piece on it, we thought we would go with it."
Outraged? Ignored? Comment below.
Not sure what you mean by 'mildy controversial' Mr Farrant, but we welcome comment and debate on Times Online's weblogs, see Gerard Baker , Charles Bremner and Leo Lewis for starters.

What`s the point - you censor anything mildly controversial?
