"A Taste of Garnier"

The great thought, the great concern, the great anxiety of men
is to restrict, as much as possible, the limits of their own responsibility.

GlaxoSmithKline CEO Jean-Pierre Garnier joined SmithKline Beecham in 1990 as president of its pharmaceutical business in North America. He became chief operating officer in 1995, and chief executive officer in 2000. Within months, Garnier was managing the merger of SmithKline Beecham and Glaxo Wellcome, eventually becoming CEO of GlaxoSmithKline.

As such, Mr. Garnier has been provided with or had unlimited access to copies of GlaxoSmithKline’s internal Paxil studies, reports, press releases, public filings and other statements, including all archival data prior to Paxil's FDA approval in 1992.

Mr. Garnier was questioned, in a videotaped deposition, by plaintiffs' attorneys in February of 2005, just prior to a much (GSK) delayed "Paxil withdrawal trial" slated to begin on May 2nd of 2005.

That trial was subsequently postponed for at least another six months — leaving the world to wonder: what's next?

The Paxil Protest, along with this web site, is what's next....
