NOTICE:
Consult the Readme.txt file for important change/issue information regarding all DAFIF Editions.

DAFIF Edition 6 is due to sunset in December 20, 2006.

DAFIF Edition 7 is due to sunset upon the release of DAFIF Edition 9, scheduled for summer 2007.

The magnetic variation applications give the user an opportunity to determine the variation at any geodetic coordinate. The GPS Almanac can be used to update GPS satellite positions for improved acquisition by the GPS receiver for quick determination of geodetic coordinates.

The distribution of DAFIF is based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) cycle of every 28 days. Use of this product outside of its specified 28 day window is not authorized and could result in Air Traffic Control violations and international airspace/procedural violations. Its inappropriate use could cause serious concerns for Safety of Flight.

AREA PLANNING SPECIAL USE AIRSPACE BOOKS APA1A, 2A, 3A, 4A DISCONTINUE PRINTING AVAILABLE ONLY IN DIGITAL FORMAT

With Air Force, Army, and Navy approval NGA will stop printing the Area Planing Special Use Airspace Books - AP/1A, 2A, 3A, 4A. The Special Use Airspace Books will be provided in a digital (.pdf) format on the aeronautical home page residing on the NGA websites and the DAFIF CD/DVD. The Special Use Airspace Books will be produced digitally every 56 days to match the AP1, 2, 3, 4 publication cycles.

Listed below is the FLIP Effective Date when the Special Use Airbooks will only be produced in digital (.pdf) format on the NGA websites and the DAFAF CD/DVD:

Notice: Discontinue Printing of the US Preferred Routes in Area Planning/1 (AP1-North and South America)
With Army, Air Force, and Navy approval, NGA will stop printing the US PREFERRED ROUTES in the Area Planning Book/1 (AP1-North and South America) with an effective date of 28 SEPTEMBER 2006.

Sunset Notice: Area Arrival Charts Depicting Terrain Data (AACDTD)
NGA and the FLIP Service representatives have identified there is no longer a requirement to produce all of the current Area Arrival Charts Depicting Terrain Data (AACDTD).   NGA will sunset 35 of the 38 currently produced Area Arrival Charts Depicting Terrain Data (AACDTD) with the production of the 28 September 2006 Effective date. The Alaska AACDTD charts (Adak, Anchorage, and Fairbanks) will continue in production, all other AACDTD’s will expire at the end of their respective AIRAC cycle from the 28 September 2006 effective date. Any questions or concerns with this initiative should be forwarded to the respective Service representative as identified in General Planning, Chapter 10. United States: Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angles, Palmdale, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Africa: Johannesburg.

NOTICE: The U.S. & Alaska IFR Enroute Low & High Altitude Charts are an FAA/NACO Product and not currently available in PDF format.
