The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is one of the most watched non-sporting events in the world. In 2005, the official website: www.eurovision.tv recorded over 90 million page views in the period leading up to the event in Kyiv and up to 25 million hits on the days of the contest.

In addition to the traditional TV broadcast, the 2006 Eurovision shows in Athens are now being made available to web viewers worldwide with live peer to peer webcast, which is being tested for the first time on such a large-scale. To make this possible, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has partnered with Danish company Octoshape.

Song Contest lovers across the world will be able to watch the Semi Final and Final events of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest live here on www.eurovision.tv. The programmes will start at 21h00 CET. To watch the shows online, it is advisable to connect before the actual starting time.
