LOS ANGELES, California -- Tennis champion Pete Sampras may have a problem winning the French Open -- but he has another reason not to forget this year in Paris.

The world's top player married actress Brigette Wilson at his Beverly Hills home on Saturday.

But the road to their doubles match began on May 29 after Sampras was beaten in the first round of the French Open by Mark Philippoussis.

Immediately afterwards, they announced their engagement.

The 26-year-old bride walked down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown and over $400,000 worth of diamond jewelry, according to a statement from the Diamond Information Center, publicists for Fred Leighton, the jeweler who provided the jewelry.

Wilson was Miss Teen USA in 1990.

Her film credits include "Last Action Hero," in which she played Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter, the teen drama "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Billy Madison."

She also appeared on the U.S. soap opera "Santa Barbara."

Sampras, 29, has earned $39 million so far in a career that has seen him win 12 Grand Slam titles, including a record six Wimbledon Championships.

The French Open is the only Grand Slam he has failed to win in a career that has seen him top the rankings for the longest of any player in history.
