Service Terms - Things you need to know

ntl's services are provided under ntl's standard terms and conditions (please refer to your Residential Customer Agreement or http://www.home.ntl.com/page/termsresidential). In addition, the following terms and conditions apply to the Services and offers as set out below:



Telephone Services

Talk Unlimited 24
Subscription charges applied in full each month and cannot be pro-rated if you terminate. The zero-rated tariff applies to the first hour of direct-dialled local and national geographic voice calls only (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02). You will be charged 3p per minute thereafter. No connection fee on zero-rated calls. Connection fees apply to all other chargeable calls. Rates for all other call types and connection fees can be found at www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp

Talk Unlimited
Subscription charges applied in full each month and cannot be pro-rated if you terminate. The zero-rated tariff applies to the first hour of direct-dialled local and national geographic voice calls only (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02) starting within the Evening (6pm to 8am) and Weekend (all day Saturday and Sunday) periods. Talk Weekends
The Talk Weekends zero-rated tariff applies to all lines on your account, to the first hour of direct-dialled local and national geographic voice calls only (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02) starting within the weekend (all day Saturday and Sunday) period. You will be charged 3p per minute thereafter. No connection fee on zero-rated calls. Connection fees apply to all other chargeable calls. Rates for all other call types and connection fees can be found at www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp.. We reserve the right to withdraw the Talk Weekends tariff at any time.

5p Talk Plan
The 5p per hour rate applies to those parts (up to one hour per call) of direct dialled local & national geographic voice calls (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02), which take place during the Evening (6pm to 8am) and Weekend (all day Saturday and Sunday) periods ("5p Periods"). A flat rate of 5p will apply to all calls and parts of calls falling entirely within the 5p Periods (up to one hour). The way in which your 5p charge is derived varies from region to region. After one hour, or if the call extends outside a 5p Period, you will be charged 3p per minute for the remainder of the call. Redial after 60 minutes to avoid call charges. Calls starting outside the 5p Periods will be charged at our standard rates and a 6p connection charge will apply but if such calls extend into a 5p Period the flat rate of 5p will apply to the part of the call (up to one hour) that falls within the 5p Period. Rates for all other call types can be found at www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp. Connection fees apply to all chargeable calls to non-geographic, mobile and premium rate numbers, any other non-geographic number type not covered in the above, operator services and calls to access third party ISPs. (See www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp for details of connection fees.) We reserve the right to withdraw the 5p Talk Plan at any time.

3-2-1 Standard
Our standard 3-2-1 telephone line tariff applies to local and national landline calls only (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02) including all calls from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland. Rates for all other calls can be found at www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp. Connection fees apply to all chargable calls to non-geographic, mobile numbers, premium rate numbers, any other non-geographic number type not covered in the above, operator services and calls to access third party ISPs. (See www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp www.ntl.com/home/telephone/tariff.asp for details of connection fees.) Our standard 3-2-1 telephone line tariff gives free unlimited local landline weekend calls with no connection fee and applies to the first hour of the call. Redial after 60 minutes to avoid call charges. If you do not redial, you will be charged 3p per minute for the remainder of the call. Local calls are direct dialled geographic voice calls made from your number to a number that (a) has the same STD code as your own or (b) an STD code that adjoins your STD code area (normally numbers beginning 01 or 02). All chargeable calls are subject to a 6p connection charge.

Phone & Surf
The Phone & Surf package offers the Talk Unlimited Call Plan (see Talk Unlimited for details), together with unmetered Dial up Internet access (see ntl Dial-up Internet for details).

International Call Plan
The International Call Plan telephone tariffs apply for those customers paying the additional International Call Plan monthly subscription (please refer to our "Telephone Price Guide" for details of subscription charges and tariffs). Calls to international mobiles in the countries covered by the International Call Plan are included and have specific rates. All calls are subject to a 6p connection charge.

Local Calls at National Rates Standard telephone tariff applies to local, regional and national calls only (normally number prefixes beginning 01 or 02) including all calls from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland. Separate tariffs apply to other calls including non-geographic calls. All calls are subject to a 6p connection charge.

Free Talktime
Free Talktime is available to customers on our standard 3-2-1 tariff and applies to calls from your ntl Telephone Service to friends and family who are also ntl residential telephone customers and live in the local call area, from 6pm to 8am during the week and all weekend. All chargeable calls are subject to a 6p connection charge. Excludes calls to access Internet service providers. For details of local call areas, please see your local phone book.


Internet Services

ntl Broadband Internet
ntl services available only in ntl cabled streets and subject to availability and network capacity. Payment for Broadband services must be made by Direct Debit. Modem remains property of ntl. Speed of internet connection assumes components working at optimum speed and capacity. Minimum computer requirements apply (see our Broadband Internet Checker to check your PC requirements available at www.ntl.com/home). ntl Broadband Internet is subject to ntl's terms and conditions, Residential Customer Service Agreement and User Policy. Broadband services are subject to usage allowances. To find out more about usage allowances go to www.home.ntl.com/page/userpolicy. Standard installation is normally £75.

Broadband Plus Broadband Plus is only available to customers who subscribe to our 1Mb, 4Mb and 10Mb Broadband Internet Services. Subscription charges are applied in full each month and cannot be pro-rated in the event of cancellation of the service part way through a month. Broadband Plus provides a gateway to third party premium or subscription content. Your use of third party content may be subject to additional terms of use and/or restrictions may apply, as stated in such third party sites. We reserve the right to change, add or remove any content from Broadband Plus in our absolute discretion and customers shall not be entitled to any refund or reduction in the charges in this event. The content of Broadband Plus is provided by third parties and we shall not be responsible for any content, links or information presented by those third parties. The content may contain material that is inappropriate for minors or may cause offence to others. Use of Broadband Plus by minors should be supervised, and parents should consider using parental control tools that help to provide a child-friendly online environment. All brand names and trade marks are the property of their respective owners.

ntl Dial up Internet
ntl services available only in ntl cabled streets and subject to availability and network capacity. Speed of internet connection assumes components working at optimum speed and capacity. Internet packages can only be changed once a month. Any credit not used as a result of changing from the Unlimited service cannot be refunded. Technical support calls charged at 50 pence per minute. Accounts will be terminated automatically if not accessed through the designated dialup number for a continuous period of 6 months. We reserve the right to review cut-off features. All brand names and trade marks are the property of their respective owners. To maintain network capacity, sessions on the Unlimited service are automatically disconnected after 2 hours of uninterrupted use. However, you can reconnect immediately for a further 2 hours' uninterrupted use. If a connection is idle for 15 minutes the Unlimited service will be automatically disconnected. Dial-up Internet access is only available to our telephone customers.


Television Services

ntl Digital TV and Interactive services are currently not available in certain areas. Call us to find out if you can get our services in your area. We charge a one-off installation fee for your new digital service. After that you pay your package price each month. TV subscription charges include your monthly telephone line rental whether or not you are a telephone customer.

Interactive games, Internet and email: access to selected internet sites, interactive games and email through your TV are subject to availability in your area. Some website functionality is not supported by Internet access via TV.

ntl on demand
On demand is only available to existing ntl Digital TV customers in enabled areas. Terms and conditions apply. Visit www.home.ntl.com/page/ondemand for further details. ntl services are only available in ntl-cabled areas and are subject to network capacity and availability. Regional variations apply. Call us to find out if you can get our services in your area. Once purchased, all chargeable content must be viewed within 24 hours.

30 day money back guarantee

We're so confident that you'll be happy with your new ntl service(s), we're offering a money back guarantee. If you're in any way dissatisfied and wish to cancel, you can call customer services within 30 days of installation and request a refund. We'll then credit your account with your first month's rental charges and any installation fees. All we'll charge you for are any calls made, movies, music, any pay-per-view or On Demand events ordered or any service upgrades after installation. 30 day money back guarantee only available to new ntl customers. This does not affect your statutory rights.


General

All services are subject to a 12 month minimum term contract.

Some of our services require payment by direct debit. Payments for services other than by direct debit will incur an administration charge, currently £4.

Offers/Packages

"Buy one get one free" offers
ntl services available only in ntl cabled streets and subject to availability and network capacity. Subject to a 12 month minimum term contract. Price assumes payment by Direct Debit. Administration charges apply to other payment methods. Prices may vary. Payment may be required in advance. During the 12 month minimum term you must continue to take all the services comprising the offer. At the end of the 12 month minimum term the free element of the offer will be charged at our then standard rates. You will be charged for all services included in the offer at our full retail rates for any remaining months of the 12 month period if you stop being an ntl customer, do not pay your ntl bill on time or cancel any of the services included in the offer within that 12 month minimum term. The way in which the charges for the services included in the offer appear on your bill varies from region to region. You may receive two monthly charges across two monthly bills, that together make up the published offer monthly fee. Bundled offer applies to new ntl customers only (subject to status and credit checks) and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. We reserve the right to withdraw the offer at anytime.

ntl services available only in ntl cabled streets and subject to availability and network capacity. Subject to a 12 month minimum term contract. Price assumes payment by Direct Debit. You will be charged for all bundled offer services at the offer rate for any remaining months of the 12 month period if you cancel any of the bundled services within that minimum term. The way in which the bundled package pricing appears on your bill varies from region to region. You may receive two monthly charges across two monthly bills that together make up the published bundled package monthly fee. 3 for £30 package applies to new ntl customers only (subject to status and credit checks) and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. We reserve the right to withdraw the package at anytime.

Value Packs
You must continue to take all services included within your Value Pack for at least 12 months. Your Charges and Value Pack discount, if applicable, will be adjusted automatically if you change your Services. Changes limited to once per calendar month. You will be charged at ntl's standard tariff if your Services no longer qualify for a Value Pack. The way in which Value Pack pricing appears on your bill varies from region to region. You may receive two monthly charges across two monthly bills that together make up the published Value Pack monthly fee with the applicable discount. Value Packs are available to new ntl customers only (subject to status and credit checks) and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. We reserve the right to withdraw Value Packs at any time.
