Materials Needed:

#2 Knitting Needles

Lion Brand Incredible Ribbon Yarn

Tapestry needle

Cast on 20 stitiches

Row 1 *K 1 inc 1 at beginning and end of row (22sts)

Row 2 Purl and continue in stockinette st. for 3/4" ending on a knit row

Repeat row 1 (24sts) Right side facing you

Knit (wrong side facing you, you will make a "ridge" on the right side)

Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row

(Inc. Row) K1, inc, *k4, inc, k4, inc* repeat ** once more K last two sts. (29 sts)

continue in stockinette st from the ridge last made for 3/4" ending on a knit row

knit for another "ridge"

(Inc. Row) K1, inc, *k5, inc, k5, inc* repeat ** once more K last two sts. (34 sts)

continue in stockinette st from the ridge last made for 3/4" ending on a knit row

knit for another "ridge"

(Inc. Row) K1, inc, *k6, inc, k6, inc* repeat ** once more K last two sts. (39 sts)

continue in stockinette st from the ridge last made for 3/4" ending on a knit row

knit for another "ridge"

Knit 1, inc across entire row

continue in stockinette st from the ridge last made for 3/4" ending on a knit row

knit for another "ridge"

Knit 1, inc across entire row

continue in stockinette st from the ridge last made for 1" ending on a knit row

knit for another "ridge"

Continue working in stockinette stitch until the entire skirit measure 5 3/4" in length. Bind off loosely.

Finishing Sew seam up skirt with wrong side facing you. The ribbon yarn stretches and will easily fit over Barbie's hips.

Extra ideas: embellish skirt with beads on the ridges.
