Humane Society University (HSU), the professional development program of The HSUS, empowers individuals working to protect animals with the skills and knowledge necessary to create a more humane world.
HSU is not a university in the traditional sense; we do not have a central classroom location. Rather, we conduct professional trainings nationwide and online on diverse topics — everything from animal sheltering basics and leadership development to compassion fatigue and illegal animal fighting. Our goal is to bring affordable training and skills enhancement to people at all levels in the animal care and control community, or to those who would like to have a career in animal advocacy.
Whether you need to fulfill requirements for mandated training, want to gain additional skills to better assist the animals you serve, or simply would like to enrich your understanding of animal advocacy issues, HSU is here to serve you.
