Mater Potter Cornelius Connie Richards was introduced to crocodiles as a child.
Living in Yarrabah, near Cairns, Connies grandfather used to catch crocs in his fishing net and he tasted croc for the first time when he was in kindergarten.
"Tastes just like chicken" he reckons.
When he was older he was told the story of the albino crocodile, which is said to guard a waterhole sacred to the Gunganji people of Yarrabah.
The albino croc is often used by Connie in his ceramic pieces.
