Lane Technical High School is located on a 33-acre campus. Opened in 1908, it is the largest high school in Illinois. Students of diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds come from more than 350 elementary schools, including private and parochial schools.

The school offers six areas of concentration: honors, college core, technology, architecture/ engineering, art and music. Collectively, Lane Tech students have received more than $5 million in college scholarships.

Academic Highlights Education-to-Careers (ETC) programs are offered in automotive, machines, electronics, computers, radio-TV, theatre technology, architectural drafting, computer aided drafting, art, accounting, business systems networking and telecommunications.

Fine and Performing Arts programs are extensive and include class work for all four years.

Honors classes are offered to qualified students. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available in English, history, math, science, art, music, computer science and world languages. The Lane Scholars Program for top-achieving students provides financial support for college testing.

The Honors Alpha Program is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary study of the sciences for students interested in scientific research. Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) is available for interested students.
