The Victoria Stars are pleased to announce that Mr. Steve Bottomley will be returning as Head Coach for the Stars for the 2005 soccer season. Mr. Bottomley has been involved in women's soccer here on the island for 11 years. Steve served as president of the Lower Island Women's Soccer League for 4 years and coached the Vic West Premier Women's team to two league championships. Prior to coaching at Vic West Steve coached women's soccer at the Juan De Fuca association. Steve's help and support was an essential factor in the establishment of the Stars in 2001 and we are happy to renew the relationship

2005: After a frustrating yet rewarding year with the 2004 Stars, Steve will continue to work with the local elite players and find a balance between skill and work ethics. The 2004 team showed a lot of both last season but maybe not at the same time. The final two weeks of the season was when training and perseverance showed through with a trip to the Challenge Cup final with only 13 players over a two day tournament and then returning the following weekend to host and win the McAdam Cup Final.

I hope to see new and returning faces this season so we can continue where we left off and play some quality soccer to entertain the fans that watch.
