quality not quantity

Well I’ve been out of the mapping scene for a long while. This is mostly due to the fact that I moved onto university campus accommodation and our net connection is through a proxy, and Valve/Steam does not support proxy (their words not mine). Which sucks cause I enjoy it a lot and miss making maps. Also I’ve been drunk a lot. ;)

Well I managed to convince steam to let me muck about without connecting and luckily all my games and SDK were 100% updated last time I had used it. So im back in. :)

I had one project on the go when I moved; I was working on a Prison escape map. Idea being to escape from Nova Prospect before they turn you into Combine. As per usual the project grew out of control and became too big to easily work on. I’m planning on cutting it right back and working on my mapping skills on a smaller level.

I’m going to aim to make smaller more complete maps in the future. Consider them as; detailed, complicated, complete, prefabs. Rather then maps or missions or stories. This way I can aim for quality not quantity.

So hopefully you guys can look forward to some screen shots or something later, and even later some quick game play coinciding with quick downloads. :P
