Northwestern Fans. The concept is simple enough. You enjoy Northwestern athletics and never stop root root rooting for the home team. However there's something mysterious about this specific group of fans - the home team is Northwestern, the school with the longest losing streak in Division 1A Football. The very same school that has never played in the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament. Fans of universities with rich traditions of success
make sense, but Northwestern?

Howard Tilman has recently developed a fascination with the NU faithful and wants to find out what makes them tick. He talked to Larry LaTourette, who keeps his own NU Football fan site at www.hailtopurple.com, about NU football and his own devotion to it.
