NBC ENTERS A 50/50 PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH DONALD J. TRUMP FOR THE MISS UNIVERSE FRANCHISE

NBC and Telemundo to Become Broadcasters of the Competitions

Burbank - June 20, 2002 - NBC has entered into an exclusive agreement with Donald Trump to become equal partners in the Miss Universe franchise. As part of the agreement, NBC and Telemundo (including Puerto Rico) will become the U.S. broadcasters of the MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA®, and MISS TEEN USA®, competitions for five years beginning in 2003. The announcement was made today by Jeff Zucker, President, NBC Entertainment and Donald J. Trump.

"We're excited about this agreement to enter a long-term partnership with Donald Trump and The Miss Universe Organization," said Zucker. "Through the NBC network, Telemundo, NBC's cable properties, the NBC local stations and ShopNBC, NBC has tremendous power to leverage this global franchise and enhance its success."

"This is a great opportunity for us," said Donald Trump. "The deal matches the No. 1 television network with the No. 1 global pageant organization, which is sure to be a winning combination."

Both NBC and Telemundo will work to develop spin-off programming from the pageants. In addition, Telemundo will produce a Spanish language pre-pageant program for the Miss Universe pageant. The new agreement also extends Miss Universe's reach into commerce with the opportunity to sell pageant-related merchandise on ShopNBC.

The Miss Universe Organization, now in its 51st year, is an international organization offering women an opportunity to communicate their views and to be personally enriched, attain personal career goals and promote social and humanitarian causes.

The MISS USA® competition is traditionally broadcast in February while MISS UNIVERSE® is conducted in May and the MISS TEEN USA® is held in late summer.

Earlier this year, the MISS UNIVERSE® broadcast enjoyed its best ratings among adults 18-49 in four years. The 2002 telecast outscored last September's "Miss America Pageant" pageant among adults 18-49 and generated the highest rating in that category since the 1999 airing of "Miss America Pageant."

The Miss Universe Organization, producers of the MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA®, and MISS TEEN USA®, pageants is a Donald J. Trump and NBC partnership.
