"This guy writes real good, and that's important, because few writers do anymore. Read him, don't read him, but you don't have to have a nice day."

"...Henry Miller meets Boy's Life. A fitting testament
to a new Lost Generation."

In the wake of Arthur Phillip's Prague, author D.A. Blyler
debuts with the first novel of young expatriates truly to emerge from the Czech Republic since the Velvet Revolution...
Set in the brewery town of Pilsen, a city awash with such unforgettable characters and places as The Devil's Happy Lap, Stepan the Russian, and Tony the midget, Steffi's Club spins a twisted, and often hilarious, tale of romance, love, and revenge on the cobblestone streets of the Czech Republic. Daniel Fischer, an expat American lecturer at the University of West Bohemia, innocently accepts a part-time job teaching English to the girls at one of the town's most exclusive brothels, only to be drawn by a strange inertia into the drama filled lives of its inhabitants.
"Blyler is a talented writer."

"Blyler kicks up dust...to offer us a generational
statement of those thirty-somethings who have
fallen through the cracks of parental, academic,
and worldly expectations--a generation that has
long been waiting for a voice."

Midwest Book Review
"...once picked up the pages stick
to the senses like opium and haunt the mind with sympathetic and sweetly humorous depictions of the human condition..."

"Never have I felt more vindicated or proud of my bedfellows of the past, as I did reading the brilliant piece by D.A. Blyler. My lonely anthem prior to it was a delightful standing column in Esquire magazine by Stanley Bing titled, "Way too Sober." That story appeared almost 10 years ago. I now feel it is possible to go on for another decade or so. Thank you."
