My name is Barny Boatman and I play poker online at Full Tilt Poker. If you want to know more about my career, keep reading...
Before becoming a poker pro I worked in countless jobs; from movie reviewer to chief computer programmer for a multinational company. I love adventure and have always been a traveller, living and working in such disparate places as Barcelona, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka.
In recent years, I have worked as a commentator for numerous televised poker tournaments, including Late Night Poker, The World Heads Up, The Poker Million, Poker Million the Masters, The Victor Cup, Celebrity Poker Club, The European Poker Tour, and The Poker Nations Cup. I have also recorded a television series called Barny's Home Games, a show in which I visit and play in home games all around Great Britain. I'd love to do the same thing in the USA some time.
Along with the rest of the Hendon Mob, I run thehendonmob.com, Europe's foremost poker portal. Our famous players database attracts thousands of visitors from around the world, and the site is something we are very proud of.
Like most tournament players, I focus mainly on No-Limit Hold 'em. I have been at the final table of many major events around the world, including the Master Classics, the European Open, The Irish Championships, The British Open, The Euro Finals of Poker, The Aussie Millions, and the Poker Million. My recent victories include the Finnish Open Championship.
I started out as a 7-Card stud player and in 1999, was Europe's top-ranked player. I topped the European Omaha rankings in 2000 and 2001, and won the European Championship 7-Card Stud event in 2002. I was Britain's top finisher in the WSOP main event in both 2000 and 2001. In 2002, I set a new record by reaching three WSOP final tables in a row, earning me the award for outstanding tournament performance of the year.
