Summer Holidays at Weekend: Jousting tournaments and Archery competitions at weekends throughout the school summer holidays. When the weather is hot we recommend sun hats for everyone as there is no shade on the jousting field. Adventure Playground with: This wooden playground is suitable for children up to the age of 14. Test your Tudor history and see if you can reach the slide in Henry’s Tower! There is also special equipment for the under 5’s. Yew Maze: Planted in 1904, this yew hedge maze is situated next to the castle itself and provides fun for all children! It is open from April to October - weather permitting! Water Maze: This opened in 1987 and is situated on Sixteen Acre Island. Circular paths made out of stepping stones lead you to the central grotto - but beware as water jets might spurt up if you go the wrong way! (Open Easter-October weather permitting). Costumed figures in the castle: The castle has many things of interest in the castle including the costumed figures in the Long Gallery depicting Henry VIII arriving at Hever Castle, and Henry VIII surrounded by all his six wives! The last scene is of Anne Boleyn praying prior to her execution at the Tower of London. Miniature Model Houses Exhibition: This exhibition helps children be aware of the history of country houses through the ages by looking at these intricate small scale houses and rooms.
