Call for Papers: 多言語・多文化研究/The
Japan Journal of Multilingualism
and Multiculturalism -
Submission Deadline for Volume 10: March

The Japan Journal of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism
welcomes well-written articles in English or Japanese reporting
original research in the areas of bi/multilingualism or bi/multiculturalism,
intercultural communication and other related fields of study
in Japan or involving Japanese people or the Japanese language.
Papers must not have been previously published or be under consideration
for publication elsewhere.
Style
The Japan Journal of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism uses
an adapted version of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association. Consult back issues for examples of documentation
and references.
Format
Feature articles should be approximately 5,000 words, typed and
double-spaced on A4 paper. The author's name and references that
identify the author should appear only on the cover sheet.
Materials to be Submitted
Three copies of the manuscript should be included with a cover
letter at the time of submission. Once articles are accepted,
authors will be asked to provide short abstracts of the article
in Japanese and English, and a Macintosh text format disk if possible.
Evaluation Procedures
Manuscripts complying with the above guidelines will be subject
to blind review by at least two readers, with special attention
given to Bilingualism SIG aims, the significance and originality
of submission, and the use of appropriate research design and
methodology. The evaluation process is generally completed within
three months.
Automatic Submission to ERIC Database
Each volume of the Journal is submitted to the ERIC (Educational
Resources Information Center of the U.S. Department of Education)
Clearing House on Languages and Linguistics for inclusion in its
database and dissemination to at least 900 research centers around
the world. Submission of a manuscript for consideration in the
Journal will therefore be taken as permission for reproduction
by ERIC if the manuscript is accepted for publication. This will
in no way infringe upon the author's copyright.

『多言語・多文化研究』は、日本あるいは日本語と関係するバイリンガリズム、異文化コミュニケーションなどについての日本語論文の投稿を受け付けます。投稿する原稿には、すでに出版されているものや他の学術雑誌などに投稿中のものは対象としませんのでご注意下さい。
文体は一般的な学術論文のスタイルを使って下さい。章だてのしかたや参考文献の書き方などは、Publication Manual
of the American Psychological Association (3rd. ed.)の定める方式にできるだけ近い形にして下さい。不明の場合は、JALT
Journal の英語論文を参考にして下さい。
原稿は、A4の用紙を用いワープロで横書きにして下さい。長さは、1行40字、1ページ30行で20枚程度です。手書きの原稿は受け付けられません。
投稿に際しては、まず始めに、原稿3部を送って下さい。原稿には執筆者の名前や連絡先を記載せず、別紙に書いて原稿とともに送って下さい。審査通過の連絡後に、英文のタイトルと、500ー750語の英文要旨、250字程度の和文要旨、そして、できれば、テキスト形式で保存したディスクを提出していただきます。
審査の方法は、投稿要領にあっていることを確認の上、原則として二人の審査員が審査を行うというものです。審査員には、執筆者の名前は知らされません。審査の過程では特に、バイリンガリズム研究部会の目的にかなっているか、意義また独創性があるか、研究方法が適切かどうかが検討されます。審査には通常3カ月を要します。
『多言語・多文化研究』は、米国文部省の言語・言語学研究ERICデータベースに収録された後、世界各地の研究所に配布されます。請求に応じて、インターネットで注文できるようになります。従って、『多言語・多文化研究』に原稿が掲載されますと、ERICデーターベース化されることになります。しかし、著作権は著者にあります。

The Japan Journal of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism is
currently published once annually. Subscriptions for Volume 9
are available until October 1, 2003 at the discount subscription
rate. After that, Volume 9 will be sold at the back issue price.
Volumes 2 through 7, as well as extra copies of Volume 8 are also
available at the back issue price. All prices include postage.

on the form (furikaeyoshi) in the remarks column (tsushinran).

bank check PAYABLE IN U.S. DOLLARS and made out to Peter Gray.

of articles from volumes of the Japan Journal of Multilingualism
and Multiculturalism that are out of print (currently Vol. 1)
