Centacare Family Services

Centacare offers a wide range of family support, family planning, adoption, counselling,accommodation and employment services to the community. Domestic Violence Crisis Service

A free service available to anyone who needs help because their partner or former partner is violent and/or abusive to them. Assistance includes crisis and short term support, information on domestic violence, court and legal support and practical help. Karinya Young Womyn's Refuge

Launceston Women's Shelter (Magnolia Place)

Provides emergency/medium term accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence and/or who are homeless. Also provides practical and emotional support, including advocacy, information and referral on housing, legal and income issues. Child care services are also available. Phone: (03) 6334 3161

Salvation Army Family Support Services

The service responds to people in crisis through providing a range of assistance, including: emergency relief, material and financial aid, referral to other services, and advocacy. Operating hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 3.30pm. The Service also after hours support to women and children in crisis, including crisis accommodation. SHE - (Support, Help and Empowerment)

Survivors - Women's Domestic Violence Support Service

A post-crisis service providing medium to long term support for women who are in, or have experienced (however long ago) abusive/violent relationships. Offers individual counselling and group support programs. Phone: (03) 6334 0305
