Hawk in new CGI movie!
08:15 | by slateman
Here's the press release as I received it. This sounds pretty cool and will be coming out shortly!
Skateboarding star Tony Hawk is now starring as himself in his first animated feature: Tony Hawk in Boom Boom Sabotage.
Hawk is also executive producer of the feature along with Mainframe Entertainment.
Tony Hawk in Boom Boom Sabotage utilizes state-of-the-art motion capture technology to directly translate
the impressive skateboarding done by Hawk and other professional skateboarders for their characters in the feature.
The film is a 70-minute direct to DVD CG-animated feature for kids and will be available
Sept. 12 at major retailers. It will be broadcast on Cartoon Network in November.
Synopsis: The movie is set in Lincolnville, a city dominated by technology where
extreme sports and video games are all the rage and the circus is definitely
not. This news comes much to the chagrin of a circus ringleader who puts plans
in motion to shut down Boom Boom HuckJam by kidnapping its headlining star, Tony
Hawk. A group of young skaters unite to attempt the ultimate rescue. The feature is for kids 8-12.
It's aimed at kids but could be pretty cool considering the CGI and motion capture. You can view the trailer at
BoomBoomSabotage.com. Check out the concept sketches too, is that Burnside?

X-Games 2006 Interviews
08:15 | by slateman
As usual, Noe V. was out attending the X-Games and has provided us with coverage. This year he interviewed the ever-popular
Andy Macdonald, Sandro Dias (2006 X Games Gold Medalist) and Jean Postec (Birdhouse's latest vert prodigy). Because ESPN has limited our segments to 30 seconds, we've had to break these up into short files. Sorry for the inconvenience! Here's what he's done, all in quicktime, all 320x240, all short clips, but all excellent. Here are the details:
Many thanks to the pros and everyone else who helped make these interviews happen. Another great job Noe!
