The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) Personal Security Detail conducts a live-fire exercise in the Hanger Deck of the USS Iwo Jima. This live-fire exercise helps the Marines become proficient in their close-quarters weapon skills needed while protecting the MEU's commanding officer, Col. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) Personal Security Detail conducts a live-fire exercise in the Hanger Deck of the USS Iwo Jima. This live-fire exercise helps the Marines become proficient in their close-quarters weapon skills needed while protecting the MEU's commanding officer, Col. Ron Johnson, and the MEU’s senior enlisted leader, Sgt. Maj. Andy Crout.

Lance Cpl. Kendall A. Richardson, a machine gunner assigned to 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, passes cold water to local Iraqis who were unable to leave the industrial area of Fallujah, Iraq, because of Marines and Iraqi soldiers operating there. The battalion worked directly alongside of the Iraqi Army and police to search the area for signs of insurgents operating in there. Iraqi Army soldiers located a weapons cache that included several assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and items used to produce improvised explosive devices.

The battalion recently conducted Operation Industrial Revolution and worked directly with the local Iraqi Army and police forces to search the area for insurgents operating there. Soldiers from the Iraqi Army located a weapons cache that included several assault rifles, rocket propelled grenades and items commonly used to build improvised explosive devices.
