[GOLDEN][QUEST]
FRIDAY Night, August 25th, 2006 - Knights of Columbus, Wallingford, CT

MXW CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT [PRIMARY STAGE] FEATURED MATCH:

VS.
JAY LETHAL

LOW-KI

LOW-KI (qualified for tournament by virtue of victory in Gaijin Battle X; TNA X Division Champion) takes on JAY LETHAL (internationally acclaimed cruiserweight/light heavyweight stalwart and X Division standout and top contender)

Since Day One in MXW for XAVIER, he has been hellbent on ruining the career of Jason Blade. As XAVIER made his surprise debut, he was far and away the favorite in his singles match with Blade on April 1 when MXW relaunched and presented MXW3 in Bristol, CT.

From that point on, XAVIER has longed for revenge, and the Tag Team Grudge Match from InterPromotional Incident has done nothing to dampen his hatred for Blade, or his fervor for destroying his life.

Due to shoulder surgery, XAVIER is unable to compete in the First Round of the MXW CHAMPIONSHIP Tournament. He realizes, though, that as both he and Jason Blade are highly ranked contenders, even if he WERE in the tournament, he would not cross paths with Blade at GOLDEN QUEST (Top 12 seeds all take on at-large berths).

XAVIER pulled someone aside nearly two weeks ago in Jamiaca (Queens), New York and told him about MXW. XAVIER also told him that if this man could get cleared by MXW to participate as an at-large bid, he (XAVIER) would PAY his talent and appearance fee, all considerations and compensation, including airfare and hotel...all as a way to take Jason Blade out of the tournament as early as possible, embarass Blade, hand him a loss, and end his quest.
The man accepted.

Last time, we said that if John Walters thought he was getting a run of the mill opponent, he was wrong, because he had a WILD card waiting.
That said, the stakes are a lot higher for Jason Blade. And we're not KIDding. MAN, this is gonna be an uphill battle for Blade.

We are pleased to announce our 4th (of 8 total)
First Round Tournament match at GOLDEN QUEST:

VS.
(Ranked Competitor)
JASON BLADE

(At-Large Bid)
BILLY KIDMAN

We regret to inform that our Feature non-Tournament match is no longer AZRIEAL vs. SONJAY DUTT.

We are THRILLED to announce that a wrestler has reached out to us (and we have gotten back in touch with him) and informed us that you can't be NEXT SCHOOL if you don't look to the FUTURE.

Point taken.

In MXW's First-Ever TRIANGULAR TEST:

VS.
VS.
AZRIEAL

SONJAY DUTT

FRANKIE
(THE FUTURE)
KAZARIAN

We can now confirm that the third-ever MXWomen's ShowCase match will feature Sumie Sakai taking on All Japan Women's legend KAORU Maeda. KAORU was one of just 8 women who were involved in the WCW World Women's Championship tournament in the early days of Nitro about 10 years ago. She won her first round match and made it to the Final Four, only to be beaten in the semi-finals by Akira Hokuto, who then proceeded to beat Madusa in the Finals and win the tournament and the title. KAORU, to the best of our information, has NEVER wrestled live in the New York/New England area and MAY never wrestle out here again. This is your chance to see, and perhaps meet, an international wrestling icon and legitimate legend.

InterPromotional International JOSHI DreamsMatch:

VS.
SUMIE SAKAI

KAORU MAEDA

Last year, they both entered 3PW in Philadelphia at the same time, and appeared on the same shows...but neither athlete faced the other.

This wasn't the first time they crossed paths.

One year earlier, in 2004, both athletes competed for IWC in Pittsburgh...again at the same time, and wrestling on the same events, but never in the ring to
test one another.

At that time, one of these competitors was making his IWC debut and climbing the ranks, while the other was a former IWC Champion in a hunt to regain his title...and would later that year win the vacant Super Indy title.

Now, the shoe is on the other foot, as the man who was striving to elevate himself in Pittsburgh has risen to the top of the MXW ranks, while the Iron City native who sat atop the IWC elite makes his MXW debut, coming into the promotion with something of his own to prove.

Both men...globally recognized. Both men...internationally acclaimed. One has been in multiple MXW main event level matches, including being a Gaijin Battle participant as a result of his overseas efforts. The other...a grappling globetrotter in his own right, in the sky headed to the U.K. as this release is being typed, and firmly on the radar of every wrestling organization (and we mean EVERY wrestling organization) in the United States.

In the MXW CHAMPIONSHIP Tournament first round's [Primary Stage],
and for the first time one-on-one.....anywhere in the world......EVER........

VS.
MXW Co-#1 Contender,
the undefeated
JOSH DANIELS

STERLING
JAMES KEENAN

He has beaten Luis Ortiz in the past, and he has beaten XAVIER more than once.

He won a four-way match held in ECWA against Christopher Daniels,
Austin Aries and Mike Kruel.

Want more?

He defeated Antonio Thomas in a dark match at Monday Night RAW.
In Ring of Honor, he defeated Justin Credible......in Ring of Honor, he won a Pure Wrestling Title shot over Nigel McGuinness, and then 3 weeks later used that opportunity to take the title from international standout Doug Williams.

AND YET...

He LOST in the finals of the New England Invitational (2003) to the opponent
he will face at MXW's GOLDEN QUEST on 8/25.

This is the same opponent who beat him in a 30-minute IronMan match
in early 2005.

It seems even John Walters doesn't have this guy's number. Whoever thought the First Round matches were going to be a walk in the park, they can tell their story walking...and if Walters thought he was just getting your "run of the mill" at-large berth, he should have, instead, expected the "WILD card."

[Primary Stage] of the First Round -- Match #3:

VS.
"Hurricane"
JOHN WALTERS

MAVERICK WILD

IRONMAN REMATCH FROM INTERPROMOTIONAL INCIDENT:
Their Lightning Match launched the division, but resulted in a time limit draw with both men equally matched...and flustered. In a 20-minute Ironman Match scenario, would both men be better-suited, or would the frustration boil over? Would they still be frozen in a stalemate? Would they be deadlocked with DOUBLE the time and DOUBLE the stakes?

Michaels has demanded a rematch, and ever the traditionalist (or spotlight-lover, whatever), he wants more time. Joel Gertner mentioned, at InterPromotional Incident, that he thought the fans might like to see Michaels take on his equally abrasive opponent from last Saturday, Kristian Frost, in a rematch at GOLDEN QUEST.

Frost's response, when asked if he were available for the rematch, as he
was given his payment for InterPromotional Incident was to look away, roll his eyes, chew his gum, turn his head, spit out his gum, and say "I'll let you know."
When he does, if he accepts, GOLDEN QUEST will feature:

Most Falls in 20 Minutes Wins:

VS.
JD MICHAELS
(with APRIL HUNTER)

"the Exotic"
KRISTIAN FROST

MXW Upcoming Schedule:
Friday, August 25th: GOLDEN QUEST -- Wallingford, Connecticut
Saturday, September 23rd: SEPTEMBER SCRAMBLE -- Albany, New York

And if all that isn't enough happy good news, we may have a major announcement later today or over the weekend. We've turned it up a notch, but we need to know that our concepts are viable, and we'd like to hope for your continued support toward the longevity and success of our organization. Please get your tickets as soon as possible....it can only serve to help MXW and our product, which in turn helps us provide you with the best night of wrestling action possible...as well as unique opportunities like being able to meet and eat with the likes of Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki and Samoa Joe. Please help us continue to relaunch MXW in the best and biggest manner possible.

Thanks again for all of the interest and excitement you have generated over the last few weeks. It's gonna be a hot second half of the summer, and it all begins (our major announcement notwithstanding) in less than *2* weeks from tonight at GOLDEN QUEST !!

MXW Does MySpace Again:

While you may already know that MXW has a MySpace, another one has been added. It combines MXW business with a personal touch, and is monitored directly and solely by MXW Co-Owner and CEO Joel Gertner.
The MySpace URL is http://www.MySpace.com/MXWJoelGertner

As you know, GOLDEN QUEST will feature the Primary Stage of the First Round of the 32-athlete MXW Championship Tournament.

These 32 competitors will be comprised of 20 combatants ranked in our now expanded MXW TOP TWENTY, and 12 At-Large Bids (these may be other eligible contenders for ranking via the MXW Fan 15 who failed to place in the Top Twenty, other MXW competitors not eligible for rankings consideration, or wrestlers who are new to MXW or are returning since prior to our 4/1/06 relaunch). The At-Large Bids will be revealed next week, when we bring you the complete match line-up and the tournament brackets. Here now, based on fan voting, we present to you, in reverse order, the

MXW TOP TWENTY

  • 20) TIE: KURT ADONIS --- JAVI-AIR
  • 18) KEVIN LANDRY
  • 16) TIE: DAN BARRY --- MERCEDES MARTINEZ
  • 15) "Sudden Impact" DYLAN KAGE
  • 14) LARRY SWEENEY
  • 12) TIE: EDDIE EDWARDS --- "East Coast Intensity" JOSE PEREZ
  • 11) "Latin Fury" LUIS ORTIZ
  • 9) TIE: ARCHADIA --- RICKY LANDELL
  • 8) RON ZOMBIE
  • 7) JASON BLADE
  • 6) ROMEO ROSELLI
  • 5) "Hurricane" JOHN WALTERS
  • 4) XAVIER
  • 3) "the Promise" ANTONIO THOMAS

  • 1) ********TIE******** JOSH DANIELS --- LOW-KI

Notes: These were the true, honest and valid results of the tabulation of each acceptable, properly-formatted ballot we received to MXWFan15@yahoo.com
The ties are exactly what they are: Every time a wrestler was voted number 1 on a ballot, they received 15 pts. Every #2 vote: 14 points. Down to a #15 votegetter obtaining 1 point.

By using that system, and after tabulating all ballots, the above is what you get, and we are more than aware it leaves room for discussion....and debate. We are currently considering various ways to break the ties. Wrestlers who are tied will be so close, for bracket purposes, that the difference between two neighboring seeds may not make a difference, but then again: when it is THIS close, and when your opponent depends on who won in the previous round and where THEY were in the bracket, the luck and circumstance aspect of all of this is ALMOST as important within these ties as PRIDE is.

We look forward to your feedback, and to announcing the fallout of the above list of twenty, how they will be placed into the brackets, and who the 12 At-Large Bids will be. The At-Large Bids will have first round matches against the top 12 competitors, while #13 - #20 will wrestle against each other, based on ranking (#13 vs. #20; #14 vs. #19; #15 vs. #18; #16 vs. #17 -- Ironically, because of the situation with ties in the #13 - #20 range, none of those 4 match-ups are readily apparent).
