EVO West is over and in the record books! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped us kick off the 2006 season in grand style. With a great mix of new faces, tournament regulars, and OG players making a comeback, EVO West was a smash success.

The friendly atmosphere masked some intense competition, however, with many relative unknowns emerging from the field with upsets to take their place alongside established powerhouse players.

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and Dead or Alive 4

These two great fighters round out our 2006 tournament game lineup. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is a compilation of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and Hyper Street Fighter 2 -- Evo will hold tournaments for both games!

And finally we have Dead or Alive 4, the first fighting game of the new console generation. DOA4 combines intense action with a clean, streamlined style of gameplay that make it appealing to gamers of all levels of experience. We're looking forward to a great inaugural tournament.

Next up, we will reveal the locations of the two Evo east and west regionals, so stay tuned!

Hello Mario!

Weren't expecting this one, were you? This year Evo branches out to the racing genre with the inclusion of Mario Kart DS as a tournament game. But that's not all. The gaming lounge will be fully rigged with wifi, for all flavors of pick-up DS action. Remember, there's lots of great gaming activites at Evo in addition to the tournaments!

Welcome Back Marvel!

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is one of the craziest twitchy fighters out there. Last year's finals were incredibly exciting, with Yipes upsetting the overwhelming favorite Justin Wong, and Duc Do coming out of retirement to take the title. This year's Marvel tournament should be wide open, and yes, we will raise the cash prizes well beyond the level of past Evos!

Tekken 5 Returns!

It should come as no surprise that Tekken 5 is returning as our first tournament game in 2006. For the past several years Tekken has been a staple at Evo, and we're looking forward to another great tournament this year. To make things, shall we say a little more interesting, we are spiking the prize pot, raising it well beyond the levels of previous Evos. More about that later, for now, check out this match from the Evo2005 Tekken 5 championship

Evo 2006! Three Times the Evo!

Welcome to the 2006 Evo website. After our incredible 2005 event, we couldn't resist kicking Evo into high gear. This year's Evo will be bigger and more exciting on all levels!

First off, Evo is coming to a city near you! We're expanding to a full season of events, with regional qualifiers in the New York and LA areas, two hubs of the fighting gaming community. Winners from the regionals will receive top seeds in the Evo World Finals, which returns to Las Vegas in early August. As always, all our events are open tournaments! Qualifying will give you a leg up on the competition, but expect those players who don't qualify to return at the finals, out for blood. We have some other surprises as wel, that we'll be unveiling over the coming weeks.

We're also happy to present Toyota Yaris as the title sponsor for Evo 2006. Stay tuned for more info soon!
