1   Metropolitan Paul on Events in Lebanon

To all of our clergy and faithful

Greetings to all of you in the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ

We are sure that you have been following the dramatic events in Lebanon. You might have some family or beloved members there who are effected by the bombardment.

We are also sure that almost all the people of that country has been effected in variety of ways. They do not have food, electricity, phones, or water. They do need our help.

Your Archdiocese is organizing a drive to collect as much money as your generosity will allow. Please send your contribution to your church, which in 2 to 3 weeks will forward it to the Archdiocese.

We are in contact with the Red Cross.

May the love of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

During the services His Eminence emphasised the importance of opening a church in today's society, the importance of planting spiritual and moral values in a society drifting toward immorality and valuelessness.

To be strong, the family needs to be nurtured by love and selflessness and consideration for others. The Church's role is essential in this time of our history.

At the end of the services, His Eminence thanked all the faithful and guests especially the Catholic Archbishop of Queensland who was represented by Bishop Kenningan, and the Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane who was represented by his Very Reverend Archdeacon.

The Parish finished building the church two years ago and has used it for Holy Services since then.
