NBC Industry Group
An association of organizations supporting nuclear,
biological , and chemical defense
Statement of Purpose
- To inform and educate the general public as well as Federal, State and local Governments on NBC defense matters relating to
combating WMD, combating terrorism, and homeland security;
- To advance the development of NBC defense capabilities that enable the U.S. Armed Forces to
carry out their global and domestic responsibilities; and
- To advance the development of NBC defense capabilities that enable the Federal, State and local Governments to protect U.S. citizens and critical infrastructure from, and to respond to, the effects of terrorist CBRN incidents.
The NBC Industry Group is composed of over 140
companies, not-for-profit organizations, and consultants who support nuclear
chemical and biological warfare defense activities. In addition to
military defense against chemical and biological warfare, interests of the Group
encompass domestic preparedness against chemical and biological terrorism as
well as the Chemical Weapons Convention and other treaties. Some of the
member organizations are actively involved in programs on chemical weapons
destruction.
Group meetings serve as a means to exchange information on
current events in the area and discuss emerging trends and requirements.
Most meetings include invited speakers from key Congressional committees, the
Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Services, or other agencies who
have a role in NCB defense.
