Novelists heading to town

Bestselling novelists Kate Long and Erica James are to visit Whitchurch’s independent bookseller BookShrop next month to meet fans and sign copies of their latest novels.

Kate Long will visit BookShrop in Bredwood Arcade on June 3 at 11am and Erica James visits the following Saturday, June 10, also at 11am.

Kate Long lives in Whitchurch and has two bestsellers under her belt already — The Bad Mother’s Handbook and Swallowing Grandma. The Bad Mother’s Handbook has been made into a one-off TV drama, starring Catherine Tate, writer and star of The Catherine Tate Show.

Her latest book is called Queen Mum and is published by Macmillan in June.

Erica James lives in Cheshire and has many titles in print. She has been shortlisted for the Foster Grant Romantic Novel of the Year award several times and this year she won the prestigious accolade, which carries a £10,000 prize.

Several of her novels are set in Cheshire. Her latest, Gardens of Delight, draws on the current resurgence in popularity of gardening as a therapeutic distraction from everyday worries.
