On Eve Of Katrina Anniversary, FOX News Makes Pre-Emptive Strike Against New Orleans Mayor Nagin
Never mind the wars in Iraq, Israel/Lebanon, Afghanistan or the “Iran Nuke Showdown.” The top story on last night's Hannity & Colmes (8/25/06) was “Nagin sticks his foot in his mouth again!” The "fair and balanced" panel consisted of a black Republican and a white Republican, each of whom attacked African-American Nagin. FOX must have thought it finessed the “fair and balanced” requirement so long as one of the guests was black. Kirsten Powers, a “Democratic Strategist" subbing for Alan Colmes, gamely played along with the condemnations.

Hannity's War Room
The neverending war chatter continued last night on Hannity & Colmes with both Bill Cowan and David Hunt on hand to keep the threats fresh in the viewers minds. Last night North Korea was back in the picture after word from Japan that there was activity around the nuclear test site. All of Hannity's solutions involved bombs while his guests,who had actually experienced war, urged restraint.

Hannity & Colmes (8/23/06) ratcheted up the fear factor regarding Mexican immigrants by trying to tie them to Al Qaeda. The show began with a FOX News alert read by Sean Hannity. “There are reports that Al Qaeda and Iranian-linked individuals have been blending in with illegal Mexican immigrants and sneaking across our southern border.” The guest, Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez from Texas, quickly clarified that the individuals had been linked to Middle Eastern countries associated with Al Qaeda, not to Al Qaeda, itself. But that didn’t dampen Hannity’s enthusiasm for claiming that they were likely terrorists.
