About RSS and news readers
These "feeds," or "channels," are free and are created in the XML-based RSS 1.0 format. XML encodes data in a way that is easily readable by other web sites and a variety of desktop software programs known as news readers, or news aggregators. News readers allow you to view items from dozens, or even hundreds, of web sites at one time, and have the information constantly updated. Examples of news readers include NewzCrawler, Radio Userland, and Amphetadesk.
If you don't want to download and install software, you can visit one of the many RSS feed directories and search engines. Although we are initially using RSS 1.0, we plan to adopt RSS 2.0 as well, and expand the number of feeds.

Information about our feeds
RSS feeds consist of single RSS files that may be downloaded for personal use in a news reader, or as part of a non-commercial blog or web site. If you use a feed on a web page you must identify www.delawareonline.com as the source, either in text or by using the logo that is part of the feed.
Read our terms and conditions
In order to make sure all readers are receiving our headlines, it is necessary to update the RSS feeds every 15 minutes. Please make sure that your settings are configured to only accept new stories.
To subscribe, look for the orange XML graphic on this page and elsewhere on the site. Mouse over the image, right-click, and copy the URL. (Choose "Copy Shortcut" for Internet Explorer, "Copy Link Location" for Netscape and Mozilla, or "Copy Link Address" for Opera). In your news reader, select the option that adds a new feed or channel, then paste in the URL and click OK.
