Children's Hospital named one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was ranked as one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania in 2004 by the Great Places to Work® Institute. The Hospital ranked number 32 in the large-sized companies category (more than 250 employees), moving up 14 places from 2003. More than 250 companies across Pennsylvania applied for this ranking.

Pennsylvania was the first state in the nation to conduct this ranking, which is modeled after Fortune magazine's 100 best companies to work for in America.

Children's Hospital was also named one of Delaware Valley's best employers for working parents in 2004 by The Delaware Valley Council for Early Care and Learning. This recognition was based upon the many support services the Hospital offers employees through its Work/Life Balance program.

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia receives highest national recognition for nursing excellence
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has been awarded Magnet Status for Nursing Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an arm of the American Nurses Association. Only 102 hospitals nationwide have achieved this coveted status. Children's Hospital is the first pediatric hospital in Pennsylvania to receive the Magnet designation and is one of only five Magnet-designated healthcare organizations in the state.

The Magnet Recognition Program was established in 1993 to recognize healthcare organizations that provide the highest quality nursing care and a professional environment that supports opportunities for growth and development of nursing staff. It is the most prestigious recognition that the American Nurses Credentialing Center can bestow on organized nursing services in the national and international healthcare community.

Magnet Status is granted only to hospitals that undergo a rigorous, voluntary evaluation process. In order to achieve Magnet Status, a hospital must successfully meet or exceed expectations in 14 performance criteria including, clinical competence and assessment, education, certification, cultural diversity and collaboration. The hospital is judged based on extensive documentation and onsite inspections.

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, disability or veteran status.
